Lyncourt Community Recreation

Lyncourt Youth Recreation Basketball (LYRB) is available to Lyncourt residents, both boys and girls in grades 2-8. Should a non-resident be interested in playing he or she may sign up on a waiting list that will permit them to play on a first come, first serve basis providing there are enough available roster spots. Cost of participating is $40 for Lyncourt residents and $50 for non-residents.

The league is broken down into three divisions based on grade level. Each team in each league will play approximately 12 games from late November to early February, providing there are no cancellations due to inclement weather. For complete schedules click here .

Each participant will be given instruction on the fundamentals of basketball while engaging in a friendly, controlled setting. In addition players will learn the rules and common terminology of basketball. Although games can get competitive, LYRB is first and foremost an instructional basketball league.

Lyncourt Youth Recreation Basketball Mission Statement

The mission of the Lyncourt Youth Recreation Basketball program is to provide a safe educational environment for the youth of the Lyncourt community. We will promote health and fitness while developing a higher level of physical and emotional well being. We will encourage fun through participation with peers and growth by the enriching experience of teamwork. We will invoke the learning of the basic fundamentals of basketball through effective practices and hard work. We will create an environment to develop strong character educational values and induce the commitment to sportspersonship and respect to all participants, administrators, coaches, referees and parents. We will encourage student athletes to persevere by overcoming hardship and endure the pain of defeat. We will strive to develop skills to play at a higher level of competition and maintain an attitude of fair play. We will cooperate with all public and private agencies that aid in providing funds and facilities for Lyncourt Youth Recreation Basketball and our governing sponsor Lyncourt Community Recreation Project, Inc.
